The Academy of Osseointegration community was deeply saddened by the sudden passing of AO Diplomate Robert Miller, DDS of Del Ray Beach, FL. With his loss, our profession has lost a highly respected colleague, an innovative thinker in implant dentistry and a valued member of the AO/OF family.
For many years, Robert was actively engaged in the Academy and contributed significantly to its mission of advancing the science and practice of implant dentistry. Through his participation in AO committees, educational activities and professional discussions, he consistently helped shape the exchange of
ideas that drives progress within our field. His contributions reflected a deep commitment to innovation, clinical excellence and the continuous improvement of patient care.
Beyond his formal roles, Robert was widely appreciated for his collaborative spirit and his willingness to share knowledge. He was closely connected with colleagues across the AO community and internationally, supporting educational initiatives and professional exchange in many regions of the world. His work and teaching activities helped disseminate new concepts and techniques in implant dentistry and strengthened professional networks within our specialty.
Those who had the privilege to work with him remember not only his professional dedication but also the friendship and generosity he extended to fellow members. His presence at AO meetings and activities will be greatly missed.
On behalf of the AO community, we extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends and colleagues. His contributions to implant dentistry and to the Academy of Osseointegration and the Osseointegration Foundation will be remembered with gratitude.
