I graduated in dentistry from the University of Torino, my hometown in Italy. During my undergraduate years, I developed a passion for periodontology and oral implantology, publishing a thesis on guided bone regeneration.

In 1997, I started my private practice, which has expanded over time to become a leading center for periodontology and reconstructive surgery of soft tissue and bone.

Over the years, I have achieved several professional milestones, including becoming an active member of the Italian Society of Periodontology, the European Federation of Periodontology, the Italian Academy of Osseointegration and the Italian Society of Oral Surgery, as well as a Fellow of the International Team for Implantology.

My publications and scientific research have earned prestigious recognition, including the 2022 R. Earl Robinson Periodontal Regeneration Award from the American Academy of Periodontology and the 2022 International Award in Scientific Research from the Ancient Salerno Medical School.

I currently serve as an adjunct clinical professor in the Department of Periodontics at Penn Dental Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. This latest milestone, achieved through my fellowship with the Academy of Osseointegration, likely began nearly 30 years ago when I started attending the Continuing Education Program at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. There, I met Drs. Joseph Fiorellini and Myron Nevins. I would also like to take this opportunity to pay tribute to Ron Nevins, a man who had a profound impact on my professional growth, becoming both my mentor and a role model I have always admired.

Over the years, I have attended several AO Annual Meetings, both as an attendee and invited speaker. I have always appreciated the high scientific value of the educational programs, as well as the camaraderie shared among colleagues. Achieving AO fellowship means embarking on a long journey that spans several years and encourages the development of a strong sense of community and belonging within the Academy.

I can honestly say this fellowship is a source of great professional pride for me, especially considering the limited number of non-American fellows. I hope to contribute to the continued growth of the outstanding scientific community represented by the Academy of Osseointegration.
