Specific Responsibilities

• Create, evaluate and monitor all educational content on the AO website, including: 1) organizing, developing and maintaining online education; 2) developing online educational programs by selecting recordings of Annual Meeting presentations on website; 3) determining the length of time of each featured CE presentation; and 4) selecting the length of time the recorded Annual Meeting presentations are made available on the website
• Maintain current content on website and make recommendations regarding web-based communications and marketing efforts, consistent with the Academy’s goals and objectives
• Support the Board in SEO (Search Engine Optimization) objectives
• Recommend innovations to enhance web-based means for exchange of information
• Develop outreach professional educational programs with the Global Program Development Committee and the Task Force on Annual Meeting Enhancement to determine the type and direction of AO’s global outreach
• Develop a report to the Board of Directors as requested

Strategic Plan & Responsibilities

• Implement the strategic communications plan developed by the Public Relations Task Force to raise awareness of the importance of AO and educate the public and other key stakeholders about implant dentistry
• Ensure the AO website is relevant/user-friendly and create metrics to evaluate effectiveness
• Encourage and facilitate volunteer opportunities for young members
• Communicate and provide support to meet educational and professional requirements in regard to implant dentistry
• Assess current membership services/activities to ensure relevance and member satisfaction and identify new prospective services to enhance membership value and generate non-dues revenue
• Leverage social media to reach key target audiences and create metrics to analyze effectiveness
• Continue to improve and update online CE
• Increase Annual Meeting attendance

Composition

The committee shall be comprised of the Chair and as many members as deemed necessary to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the Committee. Members are selected by the chair in consultation with the President-elect and approved by the Advisory Committee on Committees.

Term

• Three-year term for the chair
• No limit on consecutive three-year terms for members
