Interest in the influence of restorative contours on peri-implant tissue, bone, and peri-implant health has grown over the last several years. The design of restorative contours is determined by factors such as implant platform type, placement position, and restorative need. Recognizing the interplay between restorative and biological components is essential for long-term treatment success, with restorative contours serving as a key link between the two. This presentation will provide an evidence-based update on how restorative contours impact soft tissue and bone around implants.

This presentation highlights a twelve-year professional journey within the Academy of Osseointegration, beginning with initial membership and evolving through active participation in annual meetings. It reflects on key milestones, including delivering multiple presentations, receiving the Best Oral Scientific Presentation award, achieving Fellowship status, and ultimately serving on the Board of Directors. Together, these experiences illustrate a path of dedication, contribution, and leadership within the AO community.
