"Contemporary Implant Dentistry" theme of Academy of Osseointegration's UK conference
Arlington Heights, Ill., September 27, 2017 – The Academy of Osseointegration’s (AO) UK Charter Chapter will bring an international slate of member speakers to the Royal Society of Medicine in London October 26 – 27, 2017 for a unique scientific meeting on implant dentistry.
According to Dr. Michael Norton, AO’s first non-American president and an oral surgeon with a practice in central London, topics of the meeting will be centered around the goal of discussing traditional concepts and sound science interfacing with the digital age leading to comprehensive patient care.
The topics of implant-based rehabilitation, digital workflows and design, Limited Orthodontic Treatment (LOT), maxillary sinus grafting, and aesthetic outcomes in implant dentistry are among the many presentations planned as part of the packed two-day schedule. The event will be moderated by AO Ambassador to the UK, and chairman of the AO Global Program Committee, Dr. Stephen Jacobs, a general dental practitioner from Glasgow, Scotland.
An impressive lineup of presenters from the following countries will include:
- United Kingdom: Drs. Norton, Chris Butterworth, Adrian Binney, Steve Campbell, Jameel Gardee, Kevin Lockhead, Jimmy Makdissi, Jonathan Schofield, and David Winkler
- Japan: Koichiro Kawasaki, Drs. Kiyotaka Umezu, and Yuichiro Yoshiki
- France: Drs. Philippe Khayat, Franck Renouard, and Pascal Valentini
“We look forward to hosting another UK AO Charter Chapter meeting in my wonderful hometown of London,” said Dr. Norton. “This meeting is a sellout, in no small part due to the efforts of Dr. Stephen Jacobs, the UK’s AO Ambassador. With a great program in place, this meeting is set to further establish the AO as a global brand and leader in the dissemination of implant education worldwide.”
Reflective of its reputation as the premier, global multi-disciplinary nexus for implant dentistry, AO holds charter chapter meetings in locations around the globe to facilitate the sharing of knowledge, best practices, newest techniques, latest technologies, and current issues in implant dentistry, both scientific and clinical. The UK Charter Chapter is in addition to AO’s other recurring gatherings in Israel, Italy, Japan, and Spain, with Brazil, Columbia and France soon to be added to the list. In addition, AO continues with its outreach symposia in South Africa and China, as well as its annual participation in the FDI World Dental Congress.
