Call for Applications for 2018-2019 OF Research Grants now open
Dental professionals have the opportunity to receive up to $30,000 in research grant funding and present their groundbreaking dental implant research on the leading edge of evidence-based dentistry via the 2018-2019 Academy of Osseointegration (AO)/Osseointegration Foundation’s (OF) Research Grants program.
To qualify, research grant applications must be submitted by an AO member, faculty member or student who conducts research in any academic dental institution (with at least one person on the research team an AO member). Applications that enhance the public acceptance and awareness of implants are encouraged.
At AO’s 2018 Annual Meeting (to be held February 28 – March 3, 2018 in Los Angeles, CA), the AO/OF Research Grant Committee will award first-place grants of up to $30,000 each to research teams in the following categories:
Basic Science – Research to advance implant knowledge that does not include human subject(s)
Applied Science – Research to advance clinical dentistry that does include human subject(s)
In addition to the grant funding, submitting an application to this prestigious program provides dental researchers with additional opportunities, according to Dr. Edward Sevetz, OF president and board certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon based in Orange Park, FL.
“The Osseointegration Foundation provides the opportunity to present your research on the most visible ‘stage’ in all of Osseointegration – the prestigious Academy of Osseointegration – and to be published in the most cited scientific journal in the world of osseointegration, the International Journal of Oral & Maxillofacial Implants,” said Dr. Sevetz. “Please consider applying for a research grant with the Osseointegration Foundation, the philanthropic ‘arm’ of the Academy of Osseointegration today!”
For the 2018-2019 grant cycle, first-place awardees will be required to present at AO’s 2019 Annual Meeting to be held March 14 – 16, 2019 in Washington, D.C. The submission deadline is December 15, 2017. To learn more about submitting an application, please visit: https://osseo.org/grant-programs/.
