AO offers new mobile app technology to enhance member experience, connectivity
Understanding member needs for easy access to news and events, member information, calendar reminders – and most importantly — a convenient method of real-time communication with other members, the Academy of Osseointegration (AO) has developed a new mobile app: “AO 365.”
In the past, AO released smartphone apps in conjunction with its Annual Meetings to provide an electronic delivery of the program, attendees, speakers, and much more. At this year’s Annual Meeting, attendees also received a sneak peek at AO 365. Since that soft launch, updates and refinements have been added. This fully optimized and user-friendly tool, offering the most relevant features for AO members to integrate into their daily professional lives, is available on both Android and iOS platforms.
At the touch of the app icon, members have immediate access to a secure, members-only portal that allows access into a wealth of Member Resources. This includes the Membership Directory to perform customized member searches by location, specialty or member type. Members can also go directly to the online website for the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Implants (JOMI) and view articles in their entirety, or click into the AO e-Learning Center to view live or recorded webinars, or review original e-posters from recent Annual Meetings.
Committee Forums provide a private chat venue for committees and special groups to utilize for real-time discussion and document sharing. With the “My 365” feature, app users can fully customize their user experience, including saving preferred Calendar items and contacts, as well as a convenient way to access and update individual member information via MyProfile. Plus, AO 365 users can also receive Academy News and AO CONNECT directly through the mobile app or log directly into any of AO’s social media platforms – everything is in one place!
Mobile apps have become a desirable and indispensable form of technology. These smartphone applications have completely changed the way users gather news and information, shop, check up-to-the-minute weather forecasts and stay in touch with friends, family and colleagues.
Recent data by App Annie, a global provider of app market data, reveals that people use only a handful of apps – about 30 monthly – but are spending more time in these apps. Using apps has become a daily habit, as people now launch an average of at least 10 per day.
Given these technology trends and AO member preferences, “AO 365” is a critical communications vehicle for AO and its members to stay connected.
Download instructions and easy-to-follow tutorials are available on osseo.org to make it as simple as possible for you to integrate the convenience of this new technology into your AO experience today. Don’t get left behind – we’ll see you on AO 365!
